Supporting Dying Matters Awareness Week

Stocks Hall, Skelmersdale Home is urging people to talk openly about death, dying and bereavement as Dying Matters Awareness Week takes place.

Running from Monday 14th May to Sunday 20th May 2018, Dying Matters Awareness Week is an annual event  providing invaluable opportunity for communities to talk about the things that lots of people find hard to discuss.

Stocks Hall, Skelmersdale Nursing Home offered the public advice, time and opportunity by setting up a stand in the local Skelmersdale Concourse Shopping Centre. They encouraged members of the public to have open discussion, whilst helping them be aware of the aims of Dying Matters Week and giving out information packs.

Working in partnership with Community Specialist Paramedic, Kieran Potts from North West Ambulance Service the joint community venture focused on the campaign’s primary theme which asks, ‘What can you do?’

Sue Gaskell, Deputy Manager of Stocks Hall Skelmersdale Home says “Dying Matters is very close to our hearts in The Stocks Hall Group – it is very important that everybody has support around this issue, and knows how to make their wishes known beforehand. We trust all who approached us left with the information they required.”

Special thanks go to The Concourse Shopping Centre for generously donating their space for this event and to members of the public who kindly bought Stocks Hall homemade cakes – all donations greatly received for Queenscourt Hospice.
