The Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group were delighted to accept the invitation to Pendle’s largest careers and network event to help inspire the future workforce.
Work Inspirations Day is an annual event held at Nelson and Colne College, which sees over 1000 Year 9 students engaging with local employers, taking part in practical demonstrations and learning more about College life, to get them thinking about their future career options.
The day provided first-class, impartial careers advice and guidance with information available from a wide range of Industry Sectors and Organisations which are locally and nationally based.
June Sears-Jones, Public Relations and Marketing Manager, says: “Students visiting the Stocks Hall stand were given the opportunity to participate in ‘memory based’ hands-on activities. Inspirational discussions took place around what ‘Care’ involves, prospects for advancement and how the Nursing & Care Industry is likely to change in future years. We trust we have passed on valuable knowledge to all who approached us at this event.”
Jayms Bell, Manager of Stocks Hall Andrew Smith House in Nelson, says “It must be so confusing for young people at times to know which direction to go in life and what opportunities are there for them. We are so glad the Stocks Hall Group were a part of this and could support, and perhaps allay, a little of the confusion for them in this way. It was a very productive event and we wish all the young people every success as they plan their Individual Career Pathways.”
Thanks go to Nelson and Colne College for giving Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group the opportunity to exhibit at their Work Inspirations Day. It was a pleasure to jointly support the young people working alongside many other local companies at this event.
