July 2017 saw a small group of people who live at our Nelson Care Home, Andrew Smith House, boarding the minibus and setting off for a Summer Holiday to Wales. The group stayed in Porthmadog and visited local places of interest, including Pwhelli and the isle of Anglesey.
Neil Woodward, Judith King and Michael Livesy were accompanied by members of Staff; Charlene Higham & Michelle Willet (Carers), Kirstie Farrer (Activities) and Mandy Isherwood (Minibus Driver).
Day excursions included visiting The Welsh Mountain Zoo, Welsh Sea Zoo, a ride on a steam train and a ride on the dodgems!
Kirstie said “What a fantastic time we all had together, Neil, Charlene and Michael thoroughly enjoyed their holiday to the max, as did they staff accompanying them. As with any family holiday, we indulged ourselves with several pub lunches together, takeaways and seaside fish & chips too. We also shopped till we dropped and laughed till we cried. What a great holiday we’ve had.”
