Stocks Hall, Ormskirk Home decided to be proactive recently and hosted a coffee morning to raise awareness for Dementia.
Good old English ‘Sausage Butties’ were on sale to visitors and staff. Betty and Brenda, Activities Team made and decorated a tree for people to put little messages on, for a small donation.
During the event, the Home also included poetry writing. Those living at the Home, staff, families and friends were invited to write a poem and pay 50p to enter it in a competition. Winners of the competition were drawn out by some family members and were read out to everyone at the event.
Very moving, Inspirational, heartfelt and emotional poems were written, and the three top winners have very kindly allowed their poems to be shared.
Competition results were 1st Diane, 2nd Kerry and 3rd Morgan.
