Celebrating Long Careers at Stocks Hall, Nelson Home

38 combined Years of Lovingly Cleaning, Caring, Decorating &  Cooking

Janet Ellis celebrates twenty fulfilling years in The Nursing & Care Sector this month.  Janet has worked in several roles at Stocks Hall, Andrew Smith, Nelson Home.  Her previous positions included; Head of the Domestic Team, Decorator and presently she is part of the Domestic Team.  Stocks Hall owe a lot to this special lady and are very grateful for her many creative skills.  Without the Home being lovingly cleaned and decorated by Janet, it wouldn’t be the beautiful Home it is today.

Head Chef, Vickie James celebrated 18 years of employment with The Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group on the 2nd January 2018.  She has loving prepared thousands of nutritious meals in the kitchens of the Nelson Home.  Vickie first started at the Home, as a Carer when it was a 30 bed Home, and has seen many changes.  This lovely photograph captures Neil and Vickie together.  Vickie was the first person Neil met when he came to live at Andrew Smith House, 14 years ago. He still remembers and fondly talks about this occasion.

She recalls helping to paint rooms to get ready for the grand opening. Vickie worked as a Carer for several years until the position of Head Cook became available, which was a great opportunity for her as Vickie had previously trained as a Chef.  Despite being in the kitchen for a lot of her time, Vickie still has a great relationship with the ladies and gentleman living at the Home, both as a Carer and a Chef.

The Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group Director Sue Lace, sends her thanks and congratulations to Janet and Vickie.  Sue says “I thank the ladies for their loyalty and commitment for all these dedicated years and the happiness and Care that they have both provided.   That level of continuity is vital in helping us progress our services and the people living at Stocks Hall benefit enormously from their dedication.  They are Inspirational to us all, and I hope they will continue on with us, changing people’s lives for the better.”
